My process is collaborative with you, the client: we draw on the California vernacular--sustainable, holistic, ecologically focused--to create beautiful, elegant retreats that are in balance with their environment and aligned with your vision.

Always mindful of existing architecutre and sensitive to nature's own artistry, my custom gardens highlight hardscapes, which I design and install, including: arbors, handcrafted patios and rock walls, stonescapes and boulders. A well-designed hardscape can provide a room of one's own without walls, suffused with light and lightness of being.

Softscapes--the flowers and plantings--give rise to the emotions of the space: the tranquility of a Japanese maple, the cock-eyed optimism of yellow hollyhocks, the stately, elegant rustling of bamboo like tafetta.

We harmonize the hardscape and softscape, stones and plantings, into a cohesive whole. Your garden is much more than a plot of land to till; it is a dream to cultivate.
